UFM infos

2nd Semester !

Hello everybody!
Welcome to another semester of classes, which can only mean a whole new semester of UFM! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and is ready for class or at least the events that the UFM have planned for this upcoming semester.

The UFM has undergone some changes but we promise to continue to deliver new and exciting events for our members. Firstly our former President Nicolas Monge has left the club and we wish him all the best but we celebrate the return of our new President Alexis Motz who has just recently returned from Taiwan and is eager to make up for lost time. We’ve also welcomed three new executive members to the team: Robin is the new Events Coordinator, Chris A. is the new Communications Director, and Chris M the new Language and Culture Director.

We’ve come back from the break completely motivated to ensure that this semester is the most fun and productive UFM semester. We have organized many of our most popular previous events but also integrated new and exciting events which are not to be missed! We have new members who have only heard good things about this club, so let’s make sure to show them just how friendly and fun our club is.

So make sure you come to our events starting from Week 2 onwards. If you still haven’t signed up and are interested in joining the UFM then feel free to attend any of our meetings and we will sign you up immediately. Hope to see you at the events throughout the semester and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email any of our executive members.

A bientot!

We Are Back

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the new year of uni, which means a whole new year for the UFM! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and is ready to get back to class… and to the UFM events of course.

The UFM is going to see changes this year and we promise to deliver new and exciting events. Our first and most important change involves our executive members. We’ve said goodbye to our vice-president Alexis who will be replaced by Sandrine. Alexis has gone off to Taiwan on exchange so we wish him the best of luck on his journey. We’ve also welcomed three new executive members: Kim is the new Treasurer, Guillaume the Secretary and I, Nina, the Communication Director.

We’ve come back from the break completely organised and are planning awesome new events which will soon be revealed ;) I can assure you that this year will be even more proactive, efficient and fun than last year! So make sure you come visit our stall during O-Week at the Central Courtyard between the 23rd and 26th of February to sign up again! You’ll also be able to find out about we have planned for you this semester.
We hope to see you all during O-Week :)

A bientot!

Nina Wu
Communication Director of the Union Francophone @ Macquarie

How to be aware of the latest news of all the different blogs and websites across the internet without having to check them manually every days: RSS.
Here is a video in english with french subtitles to understand how work and how to use RSS.

If you want to give it a try, two simple solutions :

- You have a gmail account, simply connect to it and go to Google Reader application. That’s it, all you need to do now is to add some subscriptions of websites that you find interesting. For example the UFM website ...

- You don’t have a gmail account or want to use something else than Google Reader : Thunderbird (Mozilla), Mail.app (apple), NetNewsWire, FeedDemon, etc ... lots and lots of applications are available to manage and read you RSS.
