Sortie en Vélo! Cycling !
Toutes les 2 ou 3 semaines je te propose une sortie en vélo dans Sydney, idéal pour te dégager les artères coronaires, s’aérer le cerveau et découvrir Sydney. Départ plutôt en fin de matinée le week end, pique nique en foret ou sur des points de vue. En règle générale 1 a 2 heures de velo, fin vers 16h. Type de terrain : sera précisé a chaque sortie.
Se déplacer, faire du sport, délirer avec d’autres étudiants, et visiter Sydney avec un moyen de déplacement respectueux de l’environnement, c’est ce que l’ UFM te propose !!
Sydney possède quelques réseaux de pistes cyclables que je vous présenterai au fil des sorties mais surtout il y a de nombreux parcs ou réserve que l’on peut aisément traverser en vélo sans un être un pro de l’enduro.

2. Tu n’as pas de vélo mais tu veux tenter le coup ? Ou se procurer un vélo a Sydney ?

Le tarif : en général 25 AU$ a 50 AU$ (!) la journée ( +caution a déposer)
ACHAT : amis européens, ici pas de magasin Décathlon !! ;-) Donc pas de solution intermédiaire, c’est soit bon marche soit prohibitif… l’équivalent australien de Décathlon semble être Rebel Sport mais le choix est moindre et surtout ils ne vendent pas de velo !!

C’est la solution que j’ai choisi, la qualité est passable mais pour quelques années, c’est suffisant.

Soit acheter relativement cher dans un magasin spécialisé
Dans un magasin spécialisé, la qualité va de pair avec le prix, comptes minimum 400 AUS pour le moins cher ! Mais la qualité est supérieure, bien entendu.

PURCHASE : Europeans friends, there is no Decathlon Store in Sydney!! ;-) which means there is no in between solution, it is either cheap or expensive… the Australian equivalent of Decathlon store seems to be Rebel Sport but they do not sell bikes!
So right now 2 choices :
Cheap choice (around 100AU$), usually in 3 big stores as :

I chose this solution. The Quality is acceptable, for few years of use that is fine. Don’t forget to buy a pump, a spare bicycle tube, a small wrench, a lock … and a helmet as it seems to be more or less compulsory in Sydney…
Expensive choice
You want to stay several decades in Sydney or you intend to sell your bike afterwards so Let’s go buying a bike in a specialized Store. The least expensive bike is around 400 AU$, but of course the quality is excellent.

Sydney est une ville verte qui regorge de parc et de réserve ou une session bushwalk / randonnee / piquenique est possible.
C’est l’occasion de visiter « l’autre « Sydney mais aussi de faire du sport, de parler Français ou anglais et de découvrir la faune locale ! Il est même possible de voir des Walibis sautiller en liberté en se promenant dans une des réserves ! (Expérience perso !)

It is the opportunity to discover the “other” Sydney but also to do sports, speak French and English and discover the local fauna! It is even possible to espy some wallibis jumping around freely while walking in a reserve! (personal experience!)

With a snorkel its everywhere in Sydney, even in your bathroom; with oxygen bottle, the traditional spots in Sydney are in Cogee, Cronulla and Clovelly. Snorkeling sessions are scheduled with the UFM this Summer! Don’t miss the chance to speak French underwater!!

Mais oui, rappelles-toi. C’était l’époque ou tout gentilhomme français se devait de défendre sa bien-aimée contre tout malfrats ou mécréants tout en utilisant avec élégance sa canne. Ce sport de combat français né au XIXeme siècle permet d’utiliser les poings et les pieds (mais pas les coudes ni les genoux), on apprend aussi a se défendre avec une canne. Il y a un club a Sydney !!

Ce sport datant du VIème siècle avant JC, et dont la pratique en France, remonte au XIVème siècle est très courant en Provence, et fut immortalise par les romans de Marcel Pagnol.
Des sessions de pétanque se dérouleront pendant les piques niques et les sorties Bush Walking.
